How it started...

The story of the Semilac brand is a compilation of good business decisions, bold moves and intuition which has not failed the brand’s founders.

It all started back in the 90s. Tomasz Gołębiewski, who ran a multi-brand cosmetic wholesaler back then, discovered that the market was missing a business concept that would respond to the needs of distributors while serving the interest of a manufacturer. At the same time, his wife – Sylwia Gołębiewska – a well-known nail stylist and an international Nail Art champion, created a place for meetings and development of all lovers of beautiful nails who were looking for the perfect product for professionals.

The experience of the two owners served as a foundation for creating the Staff Training and Development Centre. Over the years, it has transformed into the dynamic Semilac Academy which started the brand’s presence on the market (because the Academy’s needs inspired the owners to create the UV gel nail polishes which are so popular now).

Importantly, before Semilac products won the market, they were available under the Diamond Cosmetics name. However, along with the company’s dynamic expansion to global markets, the name was changed to Semilac. Today, nail polishes and nail art accessories by Semilac are available in 35 countries and are met with enormous enthusiasm.

We use feedback which is a starting point for change. We use simple language which is clear to all employees. Moreover, we share our experience by learning from our successes but also failures.

Trust is the foundation for every relationship, so we also use it as a starting point for communicating with each other. We trust our skills. We trust each other. It helps us create a strong team that can accomplish a lot. This belief comes from our courage because we are not afraid to take risks and think outside the box. We are inspired by the idea of Think Big! We are ambitious and want to be successful.

We remember that we spend 1/3 of our life at work, so we are doing our best to make it pleasant too. We are here because we want to be here – that is our main motivator. Creation of a new Nesperta brand – hi hybrid.

Product innovation: Semilac Extend Base, a base top which enables nail plate extension by up to 1 cm.
